We Are Being
What's It All About?
As human beings we are driven to excel, to change the world, to explore, to learn, and to grow. As the Absolute, we just are here and now, existing as a great ocean of Deep Peace, Unconditional Love, and Knowing. We are both of these things here and now. The whole point of this book, and others, is to state this fact, and to possibly help inspire humanity to move past our current level of awareness of who we are, and why we are here. There is no great struggle between good and evil, except in the minds of those who choose to believe in such things. Those who believe in the struggle, create it in their lives, the belief draws the struggle to us. Within that experience, we always perceive ourselves as the good battling the evil, which is projected out onto to others. Those others are the good battling the evil that they are projecting onto us. Within the perspective of Being, the idea of engaging in battle with evil or darkness of any kind is seen as simply laughable. Darkness is dispelled with light. We do not fight fire with fire, we quench the fire's hot gluttonous flames with a cool drink of water. There is no great schoolhouse Earth, unless we wish to identify with the instincts of our human existence which dictate learning and growing. As human beings, we will continue to learn and change through the times of our lives, and as our true self, the consciousness that animates these bodies and causes them to move through life, we will continue to exist in eternity, never changing, in Peace and Joyous Unconditional Love with all that is.
Imagine you are Spirit, and you are surveying the Earth to decide on a life form for your next incarnation. You are drawn to the great redwood forests of the Northwest. After some deliberation you begin to examine the experience of a redwood tree. Now, what do redwood trees do? They take in nutrients from the earth, they breathe, they absorb sunlight for photosynthesis, they grow and they live comparatively long lives. Why might you decide to become a redwood tree? Not because you need to grow, or live a long time, or absorb nutrients from the earth, you need none of these things. What you desire is the experience of the redwood tree, and you choose it. Within the experience of the redwood tree, growing, absorbing nutrients, photosynthesis take on meaning for you. Ultimately you are complete, whole, peaceful and content as you are, you are just Being, Spirit expressing itself. There is no great master plan for the development of your soul, you are already complete. So it is when we choose to enter this life as human beings. The fact that humans grow, learn and develop through time is just a part of the experience of being human, not the reason why Spirit is here in this form.
We can come upon the awareness of who we are all at once, or in waves of awareness that progress carrying us ever further down the river of consciousness towards the total awareness of Being. The awkward part of the progression of waves of awareness is the integration of this awareness with our everyday existence. How do we balance the accumulation of the awareness of Being with our physical existence in this complex human form? Thankfully, with the awareness of being comes the wisdom to deal with our life situation. Many of the conflicts and struggles we previously experienced simply dissipate, are resolved, and are no longer of concern because we put no more energy into them. We are free to be creative with those that remain, and experiment with new ideas and strategies for their resolution. This is the perfect outlet for the instincts and drives of the human part of our experience. Awareness of Being does not eliminate our experience of humanity, it transcends and includes it.
So it is with each new wave of awareness, each transcends and includes the previous awareness. Nothing is lost in human consciousness development except fear and restriction. With each new wave of awareness we naturally begin to integrate this awareness into our everyday lives, and live according to the integrity of our consciousness. Each wave adds another dimension of depth to what already exists in our understanding of the universe. As our lives progress. We breathe in ever more subtle and beautifully textured understandings of who we are, and what our lives mean. We find that each wave carries a larger picture of truth, that both transcends and includes the truths we held as the largest truths of our existence, before we encountered our most recent wave of awareness. Each successive wave of awareness expands the possibilities of our experience, and enfolds us in deeper, and richer understanding of ourselves, and all we encounter.
Each successive wave of awareness provides us with the opportunity to love, and forgive ourselves for our lack of understanding. As we learn to forgive ourselves, we also learn to forgive others for what was formerly seen as hurtful or destructive behavior towards us. We begin to realize that the awareness of others dictates their actions, and reactions in the world, just as it does for us. No one can act beyond his capacity to understand. Just as we forgive small children because they know no better, so we begin to forgive all human beings. They are simply at a wave of awareness too limiting to encompass an understanding of love and compassion, let alone Unconditional Love and Compassion. They, like us, are progressing through waves of awareness. We can not determine from the outside what wave of awareness others are experiencing, or what their motives are. We simply accept them as they are. We understand that no one has escaped the capacity to do harm at the more limited waves of awareness, even ourselves.
It must be stated that although within the human experience we may feel more comfortable with certain waves of awareness than with others, none are truly preferable to others. Neither are there any that are "better" than others. All waves of awareness are important parts of our total existence. Just because we are not experiencing the more expansive waves of awareness at any given time, does not make us, as human beings, less than any other. However, our ideas, thoughts, emotions, and ability to function in the world are more limited, and from the standpoint of quality of decisions, and ability to act with wisdom and compassion, the more expanded waves of awareness bring us more universally beneficial interactions in the world. We experience waves of awareness as the fullest expansion of our consciousness at any given time within the physical universe. Whatever wave we are experiencing is just simply where we are. Waves of awareness do not effect or change in any way, who we truly are, they only effect how we experience ourselves and the universe.
Within the ocean of consciousness of all that is are many currents of rivers of experience and awareness, one of these is the river of humanity. On the surface of the river of humanity that we are now, move the waves of awareness that we experience in this human form. We are still the ocean of consciousness, we will never be separated from the Source Of All. At this moment in eternity we choose to experience humanity by diving into this river, becoming part of it. We are allowing ourselves to be swept along, experiencing it's rich, unique flavor, texture, color, scent, sound, energy, and point of view. This is our choice for our outlet of expression here and now.
